A pensive day on the trails behind my old home in Guelph, Ontario – one of many I miss and cherish. These trails were my escape from the isolation we unknowingly plunged into during COVID-19.
Pensive
As I first searched to find a name for my blog, nothing came to me. I looked for unique words. Ones that would carry some meaning.
Being the Harry Potter fan I am, I had a brain wave about Albus Dumbledore’s pensieve – A magical tool that allowed a person to relive their memories. Dumbledore also used it to unburden his mind when his head was too full. In the books, he ventured through those old memories to learn and derive new meanings from what had occurred.
I endeavour to do the same.
pensive – engaged in, involving, or reflecting deep or serious thought
Pensive moods are where most of my content emerges. Like Albus, I too venture down what has happened and draw lessons from it. Frequently, I unload my thoughts onto here to lighten my mind and in the hopes, that a reader may relate to what is on my mind.
That is my reason for choosing ‘pensive’
This too shall pass
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.“
Albus Dumbledore
